Ipamorelin
Selective pentapeptide GH secretagogue studied for ghrelin-receptor-driven GH release.
Mechanism
Ipamorelin is a selective agonist at the growth hormone secretagogue receptor (GHSR-1a, the ghrelin receptor). Research models show GH release without significant cross-activation of ACTH, cortisol, or prolactin pathways at study concentrations.
Discovery
Identified at Novo Nordisk in the late 1990s during screening for selective ghrelin-receptor agonists with minimal off-target endocrine activity.
Research Status
Common reference compound for the ghrelin-receptor arm of GH research. Frequently paired with GHRH analogs in comparative pulse studies.
Quality Notes
Correct pentapeptide sequence and Aib-residue integrity are essential. Ares ipamorelin ships with third-party COA.
